You’ve heard of the missing puzzle piece—
but have you heard of the wrong puzzle piece?
It’s not that I’m missing.
It’s that I don’t fit in this puzzle at all.
The puzzle isn’t complete, but every open slot is slightly too small.
I can feel the discomfort of being forced into the wrong space.
One edge of me is too round.
Another is too sharp.
Another too dark—or too bright—for the surrounding pieces.
I’m always too something.
And I’m left constantly wishing there were a way to shrink myself
just enough
so I could fit in a little easier.
Maybe you relate.
Or maybe you have the opposite problem—
maybe you’re slightly too small for every opening.
You try too hard to fit in,
stretch yourself thin trying to be everything for everyone,
but no matter how hard you try, you’re left feeling less than.
I’m here to tell you:
you are not less than.
You are the perfect amount of you.
And your space in the puzzle is waiting for you.
When you’re misunderstood by everyone,
you start to believe you are the issue.
But in reality, maybe—just maybe—
you’re not the one that needs to change.
Maybe you just need to wait
for the next puzzle to be brought to the table.
Your colors, your sharp edges, your overly round corners—
they are not the problem.
The problem is trying to fit into the wrong box entirely.
Your path is coming.
Your place is coming.
Your peace is coming.
I can’t tell you when it will arrive.
But I can tell you:
you’re not alone in the waiting.
You’re not alone in the void.
Pull up a seat,
and we can wait together
for our puzzles to come.
Because we deserve to be part of the bigger picture—
even if no one else can see it yet.
